Cryptomator and Veracrypt 

Cryptomator :

Cryptomator is free opensource,multi platform client side encryption tool for your cloud data.It uses Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) method to encrypt your data.Your passphrase is used against brute force attacks using scrypt, a password based key derivation function.

It encrypts each file individually,so if  you edit just a small text file,only the corresponding encrypted file is changed.

Working of tool : 

Cryptomator saves your sensitive data in virtual device called Vaults.You ca use this drive using a regular USB flash drive.Anything you put in the vault will be encrypted and secured with a passphrase.

Applications:

1. Encrypt your data before its transmitted to the cloud.
2. Encrypts files  contents and names using the AES algorithm.

Veracrypt:

It can best be described as a continuation of TrueCrypt that supports all features Truecrypt supported plus a set of improved or new features.It supports options to create encrypted containers ,encrypt entire hard drives and to encrypt the system partition of the computer system.
